22nd Northern German Electroplating Day in Isernhagen

On May 22, 2025, the 22nd Northern German Electroplating Day took place at Hotel Hennies in Isernhagen – a key industry event for professionals in surface and electroplating technology. Our colleague Dipl.-Ing. Steffen Genz was invited as a speaker and presented to an audience of around 70 participants on the topic of modern approaches to industrial wastewater treatment. 

His presentation, titled "Modern Heavy Metal Precipitants and Current Methods of Wastewater Treatment," covered a wide range of topics – from classical precipitation techniques and the challenges posed by complexing agents to innovative and eco-friendly product solutions.

Highlights included:

• The HydroMet® Alpha and Diplexin® AM product series, which offer low-odor, eco-toxicologically safe alternatives to sulfide-based precipitants

• The DUALmEX® process, a two-stage treatment approach enabling reduced chemical usage and improved clarity

• The MetallEX® and ChromEX® processes, which reliably treat even complexed Cr(III) and Ni wastewater – without relying on toxic sulfides

• Practical case studies demonstrating measurable improvements in effluent values, sludge reduction, and operational reliability

The positive feedback and in-depth discussions following the presentation confirmed that environmental compatibility, process stability, and regulatory compliance remain critical issues in the industry – and that innovative precipitation technologies can truly make a difference.
